Pitfalls to avoid when buying strata

You don’t just need a conveyancer to “do the paperwork” after you exchange.

Recently,  I helped a lovely young couple who were buying their first home in a relatively new block of units.

I obtained a strata report which showed that 2 special levies of $3,000 each were to be charged within the next 3 months.

I was able to negotiate and insert a special condition into the contract to ensure the vendor paid both special levies before settlement.

My clients were spared having to pay an additional $6,000 soon after they settled.
